The visit commenced at 11:00 am with a tour of the wine cellars where the whole wine making process was explained as well as the ageing and bottling of the wine. The grape picking task was also explained in detail as well as the different types used. This was followed by wine tasting of the different local wine: white, rosé and red.
The members of our club were also given the opportunity to purchase the wines they tasted in the winemakers shop. It was a good idea as members of the club had a special club discount.
At around 2 pm the group stopped for a traditional lunch at typical restaurant near to the bodega , where everybody got to know their neighbours and fellow members better..
A little later they decided to visit La Romana where Marjal International is carrying out one of its most ambitious projects to have coffee and to see what else Marjal is currently building. By 6:30 pm the tour bus arrived at Camping Marjal to drop off the passengers. All agreed they had had a great time and had been well worth it.
Around 50 members participated as only a limited number of members could visit the wine cellars at the same time, but hopefully in the future, another visit will be carried out so those who missed out can go and experience the trip for themselves.
