Thos project, that has been developed for two years not only in Spain but also in other countries such as Colombia, was launched by APSA (Alicante Association for Mentally Disable People), Fundación Marjal, the Fundación General of the University of Alicante (UA) and the Fundación Rose Caja Mediterráneo.
"Laboramusic" is a charity project that was developed with the aim of promoting the social integration of mentally challenged people through dance and self- expression. As time went by, the programme was also launched in faraway countries such as Peru, Argentina and Colombia. Among the main achievements derived from this praiseworthy social project is the publishing of a music CD entitled "Chavales, chamos, pibes y zanahorios" (Latin American names for teenager), the launch of ballet classes and the publication of a good practice guide to social responsibility related to disability ans socia integration. On this occasion, the children, together with six teachers, went on the stages of the UA Sede Ciudad de Alicante, the CAM auditorium and the Palau de Altea.
The Fundación MArjal has sought to encourage social integration by cooperating in this project so that, in this case, these children have the opportunity to improve their training, skills and integration through music. The children were also given school supplies so that they can continue their trainning. So far, thanks to the "Laboramusic" programme, around 780 children between 6 and 12 years old have received training in colombia.
